136 Mud School has been training mud engineers since 2016 and initially, we were partnered with Weatherford College and the Texas Continuing Education Programs. 136 Mud School was created to give folks a viable and affordable option when it comes to picking a mud school. We are located in the Gulf Coast region of Texas and pride ourselves on being the lowest priced and having the flexibility to work around most oilfield schedules including 14/14, 20/10, and 28/14. We certify folks from all over country and offer both certification courses for Oil and Gas and also for HDD boring mud engineering. Our owner and our instructors are lifelong oilfield folks. They all worked on drilling rigs as derrick hands, drillers, completions, HDD, mud engineers, you name it.
"We teach folks what we have learned on the job and first hand, and we absolutely enjoy it!"
- Gabriel

Our oil and gas course is a total of 100 in class hours, and typically takes less than 13 full days depending on experience and class size. Our classes are typically Monday – Saturday and 8 -10 hours/day. Most students come to class on their days off, go back to work and then finish on their next days off, so you don’t have to quit your job. We also have the flexibility to have classes that go straight through, to finish up students very fast, if that’s what you prefer. We have 5 classes a year and only take a limited amount of students per class. Because of this, our classes fill up very fast. Your first step is to give us a call and find out which class works best for you schedule.

Our HDD boring course is a total of 40 in class hours and is Monday - Friday. All students will not need to bring any additional supplies as 136 Mud School provides everything you will need such as curriculum, calculators, pencils, notebooks, etc..
